Davina and Ashley’s wedding was set to be held in QLD but a few issues with the venue forced them to look elsewhere. And boy am I glad they did! From our first phone call everything was “easy”. Davina knew what she wanted and was a fabulous, creative soul!
The couple had taken a visit to The Beach House in Callala Bay and instantly fell in love. It is a super unique location, right on the bay. Ash & Davina’s guests had booked most of the surrounding homes so they were surrounded by their nearest and dearest all weekend.
Davina’s sister, April was her Bridesmaid and the two of them had a beautiful morning sipping champagne and relaxing in The Beach House (until about an hour before start time when both of their nerves kicked in and many pep talks were required, ha!)
Davina and her family put a lot of heart into the wedding and it showed. There were little touches of the couple and their life everywhere. From the design to the location, Davina and Ashley’s Boho Beach Bash was them, through and through and I enjoyed every minute of working with them .
Some words from the Bride:
“Ash and I were originally to be married on the Gold Coast, but a problem with the venue saw us having to search for an alternative location -a blessing in disguise.
It was on a weekend away with friends that we fell in love with Callala Bay and everything just clicked.
We wanted Our day to be relaxed and fun and a reflection of our lifestyle and relationship. We love the beach and the bay setting was gorgeous and fit us perfectly.
I walked down the aisle to my favourite song from Angus and Julia Stone “the wedding song” and it was perfect. Our guests were treated to the amazing talent that is Jae Haydon, during drinks and canapes. After dinner Jae, and the musical stylings of DJ Jem Quinn absolutely rocked doing a live MC/DJ Duo set. So. Much. Fun!
The only real problem that arose was the cake sliding over in the car after my mum had picked it up, poor thing! But the day was saved due to having the best sister and friends in the world that quickly scooped up the mess, called a local bakery and sorted it with me having to lift a finger.
Ashley and I are genuinely blessed and surrounded by the most amazing people. Our day was a celebration of our love for each other and the lifestyle we share with our gorgeous family and friends. If our wedding day was any indication of the way the rest of our marriage will turn out, then I think we are in for a fun filled, loving and beautiful life together!”
